WG 6100 - missing 3/4 of screen

I have a WG 6100 vector in a Tempest which has been giving me nothing but trouble. I capped it, replaced the chassis mounted transistors, with no luck.

Next it was sent off for repair which seemed like it was going to be a win - it was rebuilt and tested before shipping back.

When I hooked it up no picture and I was missing voltage on some of the connector pins on the HV board.

Fast forward a few frustrating weeks and I power it up and find that I have voltage on the first and last pin of the P connectors on the deflection board. I go around to all the chassis mounted transistors and find either ~25v or ~30v on each one. Now, I have the upper left quadrant displaying an image while missing the other 3/4 of the screen.

Anyone got any ideas here? The only thing I can think of is when I was probing the top of those P connectors I might have pushed on the wires a bit and made a solid connection where there might have been none before. I am considering either pulling the wires and re-punching them down or possibly replacing the connectors all together but at this point I think I am grasping at straws.
 
May not fix your problem, but if I were worried about the connectors, I'd consider replacing those red IDC type with Molex housings and trifurcon crimp pins. Also, are you sure that the male header pins were reflowed on the PCBs?
 
I may be wrong, but I don't think that having the voltage at those transistors means that they are necessarily 100% working. Have you swapped out with new transistors or pulled and metered the ones that are on there? I'm guessing you don't have spot killer since the picture is displaying. The fact that you have one quadrant of the screen working to be screams chassis deflection transistors but that's my experience.

If you have the ability, test another boardset or another monitor. A 6100 extension cable from Bob Roberts has helped me troubleshoot countless times as well.

I also wanna say that I had a tempest that showed this issue, and it ended up being the boardset. Can you post a pic of what is on the screen?

Let me see if I can answer your questions here.

1) I can post a picture later tonight.
2) The chassis transistors have been replaced with original spec transistors once and then a second time with the upgrade speced ones.
3) Spot killer is off
4) I have quite a few rastor monitors but only the one vector so no chance to swap boards.
 
Read the FAQ and gain a better understanding of how the monitor works.
Might be simple wire/connector issue.

This FAQ is fantastic. It is how I have gotten as far as I have with this thing. I used it to determine the voltages on the P connectors as well as understanding in general how the image is produce. A big part of my issue is I am still new and learning. Especially when it comes to vectors.

I did this on all of the IDC connectors on my Baby Pacman. That was an exercise in pain but it solved so many problems it wasn't even funny.
