WG 6100 Cap Kit - First attempt - have a question

Yeah, that's fine. For high-end computer processors you'd want the "silver" stuff, but for these transistors, that's exactly what you need.

Replacing caps in a 6100 is fairly straightforward, just be sure to go over and double-check all the solder joints on the header connectors for the deflection transisors, and also resolder the header connector on the HV cage. These are prone to developing bad connections.

Or you can install an LV6100 by Mark Spaeth. He doesn't like to promote his items so don;t bother looking for a website. Paypal (IIRC) $35 to [email protected]
You won't hear anything from him but about a week later it'll show up on your doorstep. These are easier to deal with than the LV2000 models. Plug and play if you will.

Jeebus Cripes Spaeth - even Bob Roberts has a website. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Since you mentioned it, I'd like to see a picture of the lv6100 compaired to a lv2000 to see the differences between the two types of boards.

Spaeths model isn't anywhere near as pretty however you don;t need to dick around with setting voltages either. Lots more components capable of crapping on on the LV2000 VS the LV6100.
