So, recapped and everything is golden with the newly transplanted 4900 in place of the original 4500 that came in my Galaxian upright. The 4500 had 5 wires feed from the PCB. the 4900 has around 9. 3 on one con. and 5-6 on the other. I know red to red, green to green and blue to blue. what about the neg sync? does this 4900 REQUIRE more than the Galaxian harness provides? how do I turn 5 into 9?

you will need a second connector to hook up your neg sync, sync is the last pin on the k4900, if galaxian is neg composite, cant remeber off hand. post a pic of what ya working with.

here you go. like I said, this new 4900 is installed. powers up with neck glow. all new caps and ready to play. just a connector away from hours of Galaxian bliss....
the connector in my hand is the original Galaxian harness plug for the 4500 monitor that is now in a dumpster. the last pic is the ultra useful drawing of the pinout for the new 4900.

sorted out

Ok, I found a Galaxian schematic, that I could actually read when you enlarge it, and mapped the wire colors to the functions. I compared this info to the wg4900 manual and all is now good. All the other sync pins on the chassis are not used. thanks for the help guys.
