i got a WG 4900 as a throw-in on another deal which was in pretty sad shape. neck board had been knocked off and some components on it squished around a bit, and the pins coming out of the back of the neck were bent down (so it looked like something smashed into the neck board from above, knocking it down and off and bending the pins on the neck in the process). but the guy i got it from said it worked up until the "event".
last night i fixed it up just enough to plug it in and see what i have. when i turned it on i got quite a light show from the neck (a circle of blue arcing which made a loud humming/buzzing noise) so i turned it off immediately. does this mean the tube itself is toast?
