I am doing a cap kit on a 13 inch chassis. It came from a working monitor, but picture was distorted and caps are old. One of thew caps is in backwards, but not exploded. Does this mean the board is printed wrong, or is the old cap really in backwards??

Also the chassis pcb board is cracked all the way through on the one side. The game still had a picture though. Not sure how to repair the cracked piece.

Repair the crack by bridging any traces that are cracked. I usually scrape the coating off the copper traces, add solder on both sides, then use one of the clipped cap legs from my cap kit as a bridge. If I have to do a long bridge in an area where I don't want an exposed wire, I use an insulated wire with the tips stripped and soldered...

What about the one old cap that was in backwards. It didn't explode from use. Do all caps in backwards pop?? Should I put the new one in the same way, or the way printed on the pcb???
