Alright, so after just replacing all of the caps on my chassis, I am left with this. A red screen that is slightly twitching. I have played around with it to get it to be this stable. Prior to the cap kit, the screen was just a solid yellow. It's nice to see a new color, but I just want to play joust. What else could be the problem? Is there something that I'm missing?

did you reflow the card plugs and headers? in addition to the signal header on said card? I don't know if that's the exact cause but the video signal off the board goes to the one card.

also I know now why you haven't gotten around to Joust yet. if that silly thing boots to a 0 you're good. :)

give me a buzz later if you need help

Do you have the monitor inputs connected to anything? If yes, then you have the sync plug inserted incorrectly. Try moving so the two wires are covering the middle and the other pin of the three pin connector The ground pin on the 3-pin connector is typically the one closest to the five or seven pin video input connector. That pin should not be connected the one or two wires in the 3-pin plug.

Let's see pictures of how you have the video/sync connections hooked up on the video interface card.

to Ken's point, it's very easy to hook video up backwards on these. :p

mine was like a solid red screen, but it was like diagonal lines cause the sync wasn't going to the right place.

I believe the topmost pin is pin 1, so the violet-red wire goes there.

Yes, that is how it was. I'll have to do some more tinkering with it. Thanks for all the input everyone

Try the monitor with a different video input (or different game) to rule out any game PCB issues.
