I've got a 4600 that keeps going into shutdown after a short time of being powered up. Turning the power off and back on again resets the monitor.

The monitor was recapped months ago and has a great picture when it's up and running.

What do you suggest looking at or replacing that would cause the monitor to shutdown?

Inspect all the soldering of the male header connector pins on the foil side of the monitor main board. Pay particular attention to the soldering at the three daughter cards: power supply regulator, hor/vert (a.k.a. "X-Y" ), and video interface.

In fact, it's also a good idea to inspect the soldering on the hor/vert card itself too.

Thanks Ken. Will do.

Just wanted to point out that no work was done to the monitor prior to this problem happening. It started out of the blue and had been working fine for months. That leads me to believe that a part has failed.

Nonetheless I'll be inspecting all of my previous soldering and will reflow anything that looks suspect.
