I work a museum in Alabama. We opened in 1992. One of the exhibits uses/used WG open frame monitors mounted in vintage TV cabinets from the 50's/60's . (4 13", 2 19", and 1 25") The center monitor is 25" and has run pretty much 8 to 10 hours a day since 1992. Back in 2000 I purchased a bunch of spare WG monitors and kept things going as long as I could. All of which have now been used and now I have been replacing CRT's with flats screens. They don't stand out to much on the smaller TV's (13" and 19") but I really would like to keep the main display alive with CRT monitor. (plus I haven't found and 4:3 ratio lcd open from monitor that fits in the old cabinet) I have a WG 25K7401 purchased in 2000 but none of the connections from the monitor currently in use will work with it.

I am looking for some help and willing to pay someone who can help get this (new) monitor I have working. Also, if that seems not feasible if you have something or can point me to something that might work. The digital video player I am using now for the source has composite video, component video and HDMI out. I imagine I may need some sort of device to go between my player and monitor to get the signal to work with it.

At the very least need an AC cord for it. Think the connector is Part Number 50-84-1030. The RGBHV connection is a 10 pin molex maybe Part Number 09-50-8101. Then how do I get a signal in it. Oh there is another 8 pin molex connector labeled P202 (i think) not sure if anything needs to connect to that.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

That new monitor would be nice for an arcade machine. Shelf mount monitor would be perfect for Ninja Turtles or Super Off Road 3 player.

You can't find a 25" TV to work for that? People are always throwing CRT TVs away. Might be getting slimmer these days though.

The nice thing about the WG is it is already set up to easily and safely mount in the old TV cabinet. A newer TV would need to be removed from its case then find a way to mount it in the old cabinet. There is also the issue of turning it off and on. I turn the WG on with a relay via a Crestron control system. I could use an IR port on the Crestron to issue the power on /off command but the relay is much easier and most newer standard tv's won't just turn on when power is applied.

Here is a picture of the back of the tv and the front. the tv on the right is the 25".

Looks like you already have the composite to RGB converter on the old one. Just move that over to the new K7400.
I'm not sure how that converter is getting power though. It looks like it has a cable going to the chassis.

The K7400 also has an internal isolation transformer so it will not need the one from the old monitor.

I wasn't sure where this circled wire was going. Thought maybe it was just power for the converter.

So, when I went up in the exhibits to take these pictures I found another board. It looks a little newer. Here are some shots of it. It is a PV177200. Looks to have composite input as well as an RGB input and output. Also has 12vconnection and a connector that looks like it lets you select which input.

I saw your previous post on arcade controls. Can you still use a VGA source? I know I have used these converters to convert VGA video from a PC to a CGA monitor for projects like MAME. Works great.

I just found that post from October while I was searching on that decoder board. (getting old is no fun) I think I tried to post on here back then but there was some sort of delay in getting my membership where I could post.

Yea, I can convert my HDMI output from the Digital Video Player to VGA. So you are saying just use this and don't try to use those other boards? If this works where do I send the check! ;) thanks so much. Still need to find a power connector for the monitor. This feels like progress. :D

If you get that converter, the output video pins on the converter are: RGB as normal, next pin is ground and the last one (Sync) has to go to both negative H Sync and negative V Sync.

This was my post when I first did VGA to CGA:

Wanted to let you know that your suggestion worked great! Parts came today and we got it wired up and working. Thanks again!! The center monitor is the WG. The picture looks bad but that is the result of taking a picture of a CRT display. The picture actually looks really good. The monitors to the left and right are connected to the GBS-8100 via VGA and Composite video to make sure we had a good signal.

I asked WG years ago how to connect this converter to the newer monitor and they told me it wasn't compatible
I know this is an old post, but since WG was sold off a few years ago, the answer that the Chinese ownership company and their engineering team gives is "it's not compatible." I asked them "how can I verify the decoder board is even working" and their answer was "it's not compatible" like wtf. I purchased 3 PC177200 when Chuck Rabiola was there but WG since has been left with only a couple people here stateside. I'll put this here so at least we have some archive of Chuck provided me years ago. Hopefully it may help someone out in the future:

Just in case OP doesn't check much. If you're going to toss the old k7101 chassis, i'd be interested in it..
