ok so I just picked up a police trainer game and the monitor is not working. So I started trouble shooting and I have found the blown fuse on the monitor board and I have also verified that the IC4 pin to the transistor is shorted. So been reading a little and looks like quite a few things could be causing this. Weres a good place to start looking for parts or what kind of monitor can i look for to just change out complete. (any newer monitors that might work and what would be needed for a change over.)

Thanks

If you can fix monitors, then I'd just fix it and keep using it. Otherwise, you can have some of the monitor repair guys do it. I fix K7000's for $50 + parts + shipping both ways.

If you have a blown fuse and a blown VR, then it's probably a good idea to check the rectifying diodes, HOT, C38, C36, D18, flyback, etc for other bad parts.

Also, the dag wire MUST be connected to the monitor chassis ground somewhere (usually on the neckboard), otherwise you'll get some arcing that tends to blow up parts...

ok so I wanna pul the board out to run through all the points that need checking. Do I unplug the anode at the tube or does it unplug from the board also

From the tube. Discharge it first. Normally the K7000 will discharge itself, but if it's not working properly it might have a charge....
