This ones in my MK, picture is good but I am noticing a stretch along the bottom. I know theres a pot on the chassis but adjusting it only makes it worse. Seems like I see this in alot of these 25K7000's for some reason. Is there no fix for this?

Ill get a video up soon. You can sort of see it if you look for my MK video, its especially noticeable as the "battle plan" scrolls on the screen.

I believe you're referring to the vertical linearity.

stretched at bottom, squished on the top? I don't know of that adjustment on a K7000 though, not too keen on those. only ever done it on Polos and a U3000.

If that's what he's referring to, then he may need to adjust his 50/60-Hz pot...

ah ok, yes, forgot about that, that's good to know. I forget, is that one sealed, or can you adjust it freely?

Ive already tried adjusting that pot, it only makes it worse. My SD card just crapped out on me so no video until I get a new one. The image is fine at the top, just the bottom few inches or so are stretched. Isnt all that noticeable on some screens. Definitely noticeable on screens that scroll up or down, or screens with lots of text, like high scores, fighter bio's and so on. Adjusting the pot only makes the bottom of the screen fold over.

you'll notice it more if you throw it in Test Mode and go to the Monitor Patterns section with the Crosshatch. that's ideally what you would adjust it to.

was this monitor ever re-capped? I've never seen an image stretch on a K7000.

Where is this screen stretch you are talking about? Perhaps I can't see it from that angle...

Yes, I have adjusted in using the crosshatch, this is the best I can get it. I was thinking cap kit, but not sure that would solve it?

Video sucks, wish my SD card didnt die. about 3" or so are stretched at the bottom, and adjusting that pot will make that part of the bottom foldover. Pause the video during the high score screen and youll notice how the text is stretched at the bottom. The title screen is also a good one, look at the spacing of the borders at the bottom compared to the top.

Well, then, if what you are calling "stretched" means that the lettering at the bottom is taller than the lettering at the top, then that is a vertical linearity issue. The vertical circuit isn't that complicated, and the K7000 manual has lots of voltage measurement checks you can do to see if you have a weak resistor somewhere (assuming you capped it already). Otherwise, a possible issue could be IC3, or even the vertical yoke...

I'd personally cap it before doing anything else... or put it in a game that doesn't scroll any screens vertically :p .
