Hello folks, I'm working on a Cruisn' USA and the monitor just needs an overhaul. I was under the impression that Cruisn' USA shipped with a U5000 monitor, that's what's in my first Cruisn' USA, but this one is a "WG 25k5108".

I'm looking for a cap kit and a flyback for it but I'm not finding them in the usual places. Some shops where listing the cap kits as interchangeable between WG 25k5108 and U5000. Are they the same monitor? I tried looking on here and saw a few posts mentioning the two models together along with a U2000? Do I need more information than what it says on the tin? I already have a spare U5000 flyback laying around.

The plot thickens... I figured that this post might not be of much use without some pictures so I took some but that's when I discovered that I also have a spare U5000 cap kit too. Maybe I already ordered a flyback and cap kit for this monitor and I'm just old. This project was back-burnered for a while. Will these work with this monitor? I don't remember this odd-ball dual-wire anode / flyback deal.

25k5108 = U5000

WGM2550 means Wells Gardner 25" 5000 series

P738 also means U5000

Thanks! What an odd nomenclature. Ok, what about this oddball "white epoxy box"? my replacement flyback has to interface with that somehow? It's kind of a weird setup. Maybe I should just yank my other Cruisn' USA out from the wall and look at the back of it's monitor again. Surely I did something with this last time years ago.

That's part of the flyback. If you replace the flyback, you don't need that white box anymore.

I had a hard time figuring out a Wells Gardner 25K5108 in my Cruis'n USA also.
Finally figured out that the chassis was replaced with a 25U5000.

Apparently the K5108 had too many issues and they scrapped that model.
I wonder if they sent out replacements.

I never understood the 25K51xx model number designation but they branded it U5000 lol. I think the U2000 was a 25K2193?

I was working on a U5000 here a few years ago and it had a "15 KHZ ONLY" sticker on it. if I find the picture again I'll share it. I don't recall seeing any U5000s without the resolution switch plug. if I had any that needed to be purposed for medium res I wind up hardwiring the red and brown wires and using cap legs to jumper the pads where the black wires would go.

I have 2 U5000 and one does not do dual resolution. It has the spot for the plug, but it is unpopulated.
