Picked up a Asteroids Deluxe

Monitor was dead.

Saw the board had a Blown 5 amp slow blow fuse blown out, replaced it.

Fired back up and all I get is a White dot in the middle.
Neck has a glow.
And red led on the monitor chassis and game board.

I did notice someone looked like they jumped some wires by the powersupply.
Was this were a isolation transformer was?

Picture below.

There is a test switch on the coin door if it is a upright game. Try flipping it to the up position to see if you get a picture on the screen. You should see a large square with diagonal lines forming diamond shapes inside the square.

I have sound and game play fromthe game board.

Just a white dot in the middle on the monitor.

And the monitor chassis board RED LED is on.

Dead video out on the board most likely. Since you appear to have HV on the monitor. Red LED on the monitor means you aren't getting signal. There are alot of reasons why the output could be dead, do some searches on here, and you'll find plenty of ways to trouble shoot the output section.

Nice pick-up, great game!

Here, download this guide...it will be very helpful.

And in case you don't have it, here is the monitor manual:

To start try unplugging the molex going to the monitor, and see if any pins have backed out of the housing or anything. Reattach and make sure it is tightly connected.
Anothing thing you can do is reflow the solder to all connection pins on the deflection board, specifically at: P500, P600, and P700.

See where that gets you. The guys on this forum are great and will help get you up and running. I had great help getting my 19V2000 going again last month with the help of the experts on this forum.

Don't want to derail another's thread but does the cap kit Bob sells cover the deflection pcb and the HV pcb? Besides the cap kit what other parts should one purchase to rebuild this monitor?

OK I tested the Game Board 12 pin Molex conector.

I have no power allmost every where.

Just Pins 3 and 4 have a few AC volts.

So do I have a Bad Game Board?

or mabye

A bad Big Blue?

Ok I rechecked the plug going to the Monitor.

Looks like I do have power to X,Y and Z. Pins 1-6.

But I have no 36 volts? Also no 36v at the game board.

Where do I go from here?

Ok took the chassis off and found alot of cracked solder joints around the coneectors.

Reflowed all the joints

Still no go.

Are all your fuses good at the power supply?

You could always try the shotgun approach and do a cap kit and power supply rebuild kit. Both are available from Bob Roberts.
