I need some trouble shooting advice. I have a WG 19K7915 where the red is over driven. It has a cracked neck board (85X0217B / P448) that I've since repaired all the the broken traces. Long story short the game got left on for an extended period due to my X10 truing itself on during a storm and after that the colors were fine but the picture was very fuzzy. I then recapped the monitor and now the red is over driven. The issue appears to be intermittent as at times the picture will go back to normal and I've been able to dial the monitor in nicely. I pulled the monitor today and reflowed all the traces on the neck board for the transistors (Q201 - Q203) and the color pots. I also reflowed the pins on the chassis for the monitor cable. Is it possible that one of the caps from my cap kit is causing the intermittent issue? That's the only other thing I can think of as the colors were fine before the cap kit. I've tried wiggling almost everything and I can't locate the cold solder join that way. Any advice is appreciated.

Additional Testing

I would test the transistors on the main board as well. I believe they are Q1, Q2 and Q3. Also try swapping the red drive transistor with one of the other two neck board transistors and fire it back up and see if another color is doing the same thing, if so then there's your problem. Another thing to check is the solder joints on the headers for your RGB, wiggle the inputs for these too while its fired up. Maybe when you dialed it in the red is cranked and appears overdriven when everything is working correctly. While i believe it unlikely it's possible IC1 is bad(or cold solder joints) if all else fails. I pretty sure a cap wouldn't cause this. I got an IC from Utsource for a few bucks(From China so you gotta wait! :( ). Good luck!
