I have a K7900 that had this problem when I got it. Problem is bright white line down the middle. I installed a cap. kit, and also replaced IC2, but problem is still there. Any Ideas on what to check next?
Thanks for any info
Aaron
P.S. I tried to post pics., but as usual my photos from cheap camera are too big to post on KLOV. :.(

Is the K7900 the same as the typical K7000? If so, IC3 controls the vert. You can check to see if R91 is open. Also, on the IC3's I have replaced that were bad, two of the pins would have continuity when removed from the board. While on the new replacements, none of the legs have continuity with one-another.

Ok, I replaced R91, but no change. From my manual, it looks like IC3 would be my Vert. output Trans. Does that sound right? If so, I'll have to order 1(or see if I have another in the scrap pile).
Thanks for your info

check the yoke(ohm it just to make sure its not open on one of the windings)

and also before you go shooting parts at it with the dignostic shotgun(tm) ha lol.....

give it a good lookover for krappy solder and or tranished/burnt solder pads. look around the yoke pins and large resistors/diodes in the yoke area or from the yoke traces.

Im not saying its something that simple, but that would be a good place to start.

IC3 does control the vert. output on this model. See post 2.
