I have a WG 19K5603 that has a cracked Flyback. Through some searchs here it appears that the chassis is the same as a 4900. I emailed Bob Roberts and asked him about a replacement flyback and here is his reply:

There has never been any flybacks for the K4600, K4900, K5500 or K5600
chassis because they were always rock solid. At this point a few are kicking
over, but it would be a losing venture for anyone to attempt a repro for
them :-(

The 5500 is the same base chassis as the K4900, but I'm not sure that they
used the same flyback. Don't remember a thing about the K5600.

I guess my only option is to replace the entire chassis.

Can anyone provide some more information?

I purchased a k4900 flyback from arcadecup.com and installed it on my k5603 chassis. When I was finishing I went to reinstall the metal plate that was screwed to the metal rod that goes thru the core of the flyback, but the new flyback has a tab sticking out on top and no threaded end on the metal rod in the core. Is this plate necessary for proper operation? Do I need to modify the plate so it just rests on top of the new flyback? Can I cut the tab on top of the new flyback?

Here is a picture of the k5603:

Here is the new flyback:

Please help!!!

If I'm looking at this correctly, and if this anything like the K7000 flys, you don't need to secure the fly to the heatsink.

Anybody else have any input? I really want to get this monitor working and get on to the next project....

I recently rebuilt my 4915 that uses the same flyback which I bought from Arcadecup.com. That bracket doesn't really do anything except maybe keep the fly from getting bumped around. I just bent the bracket so it rested on top of the new one, but really I don't think it's even needed. Monitor works fine.

If it's anything like the K7000 (unfortunately I don't have a 4900 in front of me) it's just a point of stability. Nothing to do with its operation.

First flyback replacement success!!

Thanks rng25 for the input!

I powered up the monitor and after some adjusting it seems to be ok. My issues now are pcb related.

I appreciate your help Peale. I did not even know about arcadecup. I will definitely be using them from now on. Thanks again!
