West Coast WA to OR to No. CAL to So. Cal arcade transport pipeline?!

Unfortunately I wonder how much incentive there is for the CA guys to get involved - maybe there's just far less demand for games coming down as there is for games coming up. :(

I've brought well over a dozen games down for CA collectors, probably closer to 20 through the years. Other than gas and lunch money, the incentive would be to be able to sneak one of your wanted cabs on for dirt cheap or free shipping! :)

4x cabs @ 250 miles each way, 500 miles round trip would be a little over $200 in your pocket while only using around $100 in gas. 6x games with the same mileage would be at least $300 in your pocket... so it would cover expenses and then some, but it would take someone who doesn't mind driving, haulin' and storing to get collectors cabinets they are looking for.

Another thing could be to make sure we all know what rare games pop up in the respected areas.

Maybe we should be posting in the "for sale" section when we see the games come up in the area. Wait a day or two before posting to the public, so we dont step on each others toes?

Example, a Crystal Castles Cocktail is in the Portland area right now. While I dont want it, I realize it is rare and maybe a crystal castle collector in CA or WA wants it.

Sounds like stubbed fingers to me :)

We'd have to set it up on a webpage, I wouldn't mind hosting and editing it on mine. It could say the next e.t.a. of haul' was, and have collectors PM me with stuff for sale and I could add it.

Usually how it works is about a month before an e.t.a. everyone starts looking and then wants it all picked up weeks or days before you leave. Its really hard to plan an e.t.a. when you've only got 1 or 2 cabinets in storage and waiting for 3 or 4 more to go. The major benefit to running the "West Coast Pipeline" would be that you'd be open to alot more auctions up and down the coast.

One mandatory trick would be to get the guys who are willing to pickup a machine within XX miles of their house that live near I-5 on the pickup list with their city and general times available. Then if you see something in their area you could contact them and let them check into it and see if they're able to do it and how much getting it picked up and to their house would cost.

So it would rely on a group of commited guys... A half a dozen or more guys who live near I-5 who could pickup single games within a few days of notice. And then the warehouse guys who would do the majority of storing and haulin' who live in "depot" cities or close to them.

hauling

I get the feeling there's going too be alot of talking about this and then nothing ends up happening with it.

I allways see games from other states or Eastern Washington that i have no way of getting .

Sure i'm wiling too shell out extra money for peoples time and there Gas!

Sounds like a good plan ,

Thats the plan! :)

I personally don't need the delivery train. My story is a little different than most, I've met 30+ guys along the route and have friends along the way who are willing to scratch my back, pickup and hold games for me... I've got guys East, guys North, tons South and even a few West. I wanted to allow others the luxury that I've earned by going on all these crazy trips and meeting people since it opens up a plethora of available games, and increase the frequency of game hauls.

If I can't get a hodge podge crew of geeks with trucks together to do this it doesn't hurt my feelings or affect me much, but its sad that alot of times the only thing stopping someone from a grail is mileage and no way to get it home.

Well if you plan on making a run into California anytime soon give me a heads up since you bust I5 right through Ptown ;)

i make it down to southern oregon occasionally and could conceivably get a game halfway across the state and my boy cj (oregonarcade) could probably do the other half.

I like the idea of helping eachother out and keeping it to the I5 corridor. count me in!
