Needing some clarification. Were games like Super Pacman/Jr. Pacman conversion kits for cocktail cabs, or did they have their own run?

Furthermore, were there any games in the Pac series released only as a conversion...when it comes to cocktail cabs?

Super Pac-Man cocktails were dedicated. Jr. Pacs were conversion-only. Look in the Jr. Pac-Man manual, there's no cocktail mentioned.

No, the CPOs stayed the same and there were stickers for the underlay that covered the text.

No, it does not nor do any that I'm aware of. Jr. Pac-Man is its own circuit board.

Let me clarify. Jr. Pac-Man does not run on Pac-Man hardware. A 96 in 1 MultiPac runs on Pac-Man hardware whereas 39:1 is emulation. For example, you can't play Centipede on a Pac-Man board and visa versa.

As previously stated...

Super Pacman was released as its own dedicated cocktail(I have a really nice on in my personal collection)...it would have to be because the other original cocktails Pacman and Ms pac had totally different hardware than super pac...you would need entirely different harness and power setup to convert..

Jr. Pacman was released as limited kit...I have the a rare version of the nos decals used for the cocktail as you put them over the existing overlay..they didn't make any control overlays just the decals..They used the same board style(Jr Pac Field kit) made to be used with pac and ms pac wiring setup otherwise and original Jr. Pac board wouldn't work in pac or ms pac style cabs as it was totally different power and wiring setup.

Keep in mind they did make a dedicated mappy cocktail too and its possible to run a dedicated Jr. pac board in that set up since that is case with the upright versions..In case you didn't know history the dedicated Jr. Pac cabs were simply Mappy cabs not finished at the factory and used to convert for Jr. Pacs..same wiring setup with one or two changes in harness for the joystick as mappy is only two way and Jr. pac is four way joystick..however this slight variation makes it unlikely they would make the conversion for mappy cocktails but a vendor could customize one if they were able to make the larger style board fit in that smaller cocktail cab...all the conversions I've seen used the smaller Jr Pac field kit that worked with pac and ms pac wiring setups..

I also believe there were Ms pac conversion kits for the pacman cocktails..as well as the dedicated Ms Pac cocktails produced too as everyone knows..don't know which came first but i think they sold both at some point..

I went to go check out the Mappy page on VAPS, and it only lists it as an upright...yet the front pic of the manual on the site shows the dedicated cocktail. Sent in a request to the support staff to have the page updated.

I was able to find a few places online that point to Mike Doyle's Multipac playing Jr. Pacman, so it looks like you can.

The reason I'm asking about all of this, I might have enough parts to cobble together two Pacman cocktails, and while I plan to do one with a Doyle multi, I can't decide plans for the other. Not to thrilled with Maming it. Was hoping to do a tasteful conversion of something that wouldn't be covered in the multipacs, but was an actual kit designed to fit a Pac cocktail. Don't think there's something that fits the bill though. Mike did a good job of covering all the bases.

I love my Super Pac cocktail. The Super Pac to Jr. Pac adapter from the kit for Super Pac uprights would work in a cocktail if there is room for the Jr. Pac PCB. IIRC, Galaga and Mappy are the same pinout, correct?
