Were there 2 Different Galaga cocktails..

Probably just little differences in these new underlays because Galaga originally didn't use an underlay.

The art was screened onto the glass.

The control panel cut out shape is different on Galga/Ms Pac cabs compared to Pac Man. Some might be made to fit Pac cabs rather than Galaga. Pac Man has 11 inch wide control panels, Galaga and Ms. Pac have 9.

While on the subject, Pac Man and Galaxian cocktails have only one quarter slot in the coin door while Galaga and Ms. Pac have two.

Yea thats whats confusing.. I have 2 screened glasstops they look like the 2 different ones.. One says midway bally the other says midway bally and namco.. The midway bally namco fits the top cut perfect onmy Galaga CT.. My Cocktail is a dedicated Galaga with serial numbers intact around 700 so its a early Galaga..

Yea I have a Ms Pac and a Pac Cocktail too and they are different cuts on top.. My Galaga midway bally does not fit the cut on the top of those either.. That why im thinking they had 2 different galaga cocktails.. Im wondering what is more common??

I think what you're seeing is the difference between a glass where someone scraped off the painted artwork where it overhangs the control panel. I've had glasses in the past where it looks like some kid used the edge of a quarter to scrape away the paint exactly to the edge of the wooden top cut-out.

It's so exact for vandalism that it almost looks factory but you'll notice the edge of the scraped artwork isn't the same as the outside edges along the glass. Using the reproduction underlays for comparison isn't helpful unfortunately since they're not cut accurately. Case in point- Pacman underlays that are usually cut for Ms Pac cocktails.

Dont think it was scratched off on mine.. I will take some pics of the screened glass.. I was just using the underlays as a example since they are both shaped exactly like my screened glass..

It's hard to believe, but trust me; it's been scraped clean. Just look at the layers of ink around the perimeter of the long sides and compare them to the ink edge at the control panels. It's different because it's been scraped off at the control panel.
