Were mini Super Pac-Mans ever mass produced?

Interesting. Could be a conversion, but it's not a cab I recognize. The front lip of the control panel is much shorter than on Ms. Pac or Galaga minis.

It is a dedicated cabaret/mini cabinet, but there were very few of these made for Super Pac-Man. Good luck finding one. Pac, Ms. Pac and Galaga are far more plentiful in cabaret form.

I've seen one in person and pictures of another one on eBay within the last year.

They're out there.

The photobucket picture is an original cab. Note how far the letters are in from the edge of the marquee.

The posted pic just above this reply seems to be a conversion. The marquee is a full size marquee cut down. Perhaps just the marquee area as I can't see enough of the rest of the cab to know for sure.

The official one shares the same cab profile and marquee height as Robby Roto, Lazarian and Tron. The control panel face is shorter than that of the older mini cabs such as PacMan/RallyX/Galaga/MsPac.

I know they were available in kits to convert other mini's, but they definitely shipped a real one, it's in the manual.

Galaga / Ms. Pac cabaret cabs are totally different than the Pac/Rally X cabaret cabs, though.

I've seen so many variations on Midway minis that I wonder whether or not there could be some on Super Pac, too. Just this last week, I've seen a different style Galaga mini that very well may be dedicated from the factory...and I have a dedicated Galaxian mini in my apartment that looks nothing like the mini-Pac/Rally X type cab the dedicated one was supposed to come in.

That's the correct monitor bezel and CP, though. So, there's more dedicated stuff on that one than non-dedicated (i.e. the marquee...and even that could just be a variation.)

Vectorman has one in his museum that he told me was factory original. It's got the same marquee as the one linked in the original post:

Here are two factory original Galaxian cabarets (and no, the second did not leave the factory as GORF):

Thanks for the info, I was shocked. They sure are beautiful.
Does vectorman have a public museum?

The one with the larger print marquee looks like its printed wider, not taller. My bet would be it's a repro marquee. Cab could still be dedicated with the marquee replaced.

Yeah, but both styles have a similarly-sized control panel. I'm pretty sure I could swap my Pac mini CP onto my Galaga mini.

Which style? I've seen two, one with a tall marquee (which I have) and one with a shorter one. Be interesting to compare the side profiles, I don't know if the space came from shortening the cab overall or if they made more space inside / changed monitor placement.

My mini Pac CP does not fit on my Galaga mini. The Pac has a wood backer just like the full-size upright, but the Galaga does not. I've also got an Omega race mini cab, and its CP won't fit on the Galaga or Pac mini. The clips are in totally different places. It is kind of annoying, but it makes the minis that much more interesting. There are lots of little variations.

Craziest thing about that is the two speaker grilles on the later-style cab.

It started in the factory as a GORF mini, and they had two speaker grilles. It also retained the same monitor glass as the GORF.

But, they converted it to Galaxian via a new wrap-around marquee, CP, and internals before releasing it to the public. They also did things like put a custom copyright sticker directly onto the monitor glass.

There was also a super hard to find Jr. Pac mini/cabaret...I have an original glass marquee for it...I think this was just a kit released for mini...but I imagine there may be a few converted at the factory too...never seen one in wild to check inside to see if has original tags on harness etc...I will see if I can find a picture of my jr pac mini marquee.

I know someone who was a mini Jr. marquee. Does anyone have a Jr. mini? I may be able to have a Jr. Cabaret and I can design a custom CPO. >:)

Wow. That looks like a conversion, but awesome. I wonder if bezels or CPOs were designed.
Such a mystery.
