Were dedicated Ikari Warriors cabs JAMMA?

I just got around to messing with my Ikari Warriors. It looks like it was running with an adpater in it, but when I plugged in my handy dandy Tetris PCB for testing, it didn't work. Is it anyone else's experience that their dedicated Ikari cab is JAMMA, and the Ikari PCB is running with a factory adapter, or something else? Seems weird that they'd need an Ikari to *something, NOT JAMMA* adapter.... Why not just run it with the right harness to begin with?

I can tell the Ikari PCB is not JAMMA, but what that adapter plugs into is definitely 56-pin, so I was thinking it (the cabinet) was JAMMA.

Hopefully someone knows what the pinouts of the existing harness would be and can chime in. I will need to rewire it to work with JAMMA, and it will take a while to tone out all those lines.... :(

Maybe it was some kind of Dynamo standard pinout pre-dating JAMMA.

I am currently shopping for a dedicated Ikari and from what I can tell. They where available as a SNK or a jamma. Maybe your cabinet is a jamma and the board went out and it has a SNK now??

I bit pricey ($35), but you could always buy the Ikari-->JAMMA adapter from Bob Roberts...

Both formats were available. I currently have both versions. :)

EDIT - I meant both versions of the PCB.

to my understanding, the dedicated units were not JAMMA, and the kits that followed were JAMMA. there's a possibility that there may have been dedicated JAMMAs later in the production run though, maybe.

I can't believe it was like 24 years ago I was playing this game in our arcade. lol

I think the dedicated cabinet is dynamo custom wiring. The adapter card was meant to take it to what you needed. Dynamo was making generic cabinets to several vendors, so they thought they probably thought it was a good idea. Maybe sell adapters dynamo to snk, dynamo to capcom, dynamo to ect..

I think they sold a few adapter boards. pretty sure I have a spare dynamo to jamma one. I even think I have a cabinet I can test it in if you need one. here are some pics.

Cool. Thanks for the info, guys. Glad I'm not crazy and I can still trust my Tetris PCB. PM sent, Bill.
