went to myrtle beach this weekend...played a few pins at the garden city pavilion
they had 4 sterns there....well, actually 5, but the T3 was in shrink wrap in the back.
- pirates of the caribbean
- lord of the rings
- indiana jones
- nascar
i had played pirates the most before this weekend, so i didn't really concentrate too much on it. i do love the pin though, and i probably played 4 or 5 games of it.
played a few games of indy....i know it's a much hated title, but other than the fact that there's only 1 ramp, i actually like the pin. my wife played it more than i did....she actually did quite well....wound up a little less than 1mil off the high score list (which wasn't very high...75mil or so i think?).
didn't play nascar....i've played the dale junior pin and know what it's all about. a fun pin, but i just didn't have time to get to it once i started playing:
LORD OF THE RINGS. woooohooooo!!! man, that's a fun pin. i had only played two games of LOTR before this weekend on a real pin (but plenty of it virtually). i played a metric eff-ton while i was down there....got plenty of replays and matches so it didn't cost me a whole helluva lot. that thing is deep, is a good mix of flow/stop shots, has great sound, great animations, plenty of modes, and plenty of nice shots. it's definitely on my list to own.
the only question i would have for LOTR owners is: do the long ball times ever get boring? now, i DID NOT tear up the scoreboard on LOTR, but i had really long games. not sure if that's typical or not. i know even if i own one i'm never going to beat it, but i am curious as to whether or not long games would grow a bit boring in the home environment.
thoughts?
