Went to go adjust/fine tune a Zenith 19" yesterday...

...nudged up the screen knob to increase brightness, and said "EFF THIS". That is all.

If you have seen the controls layout of one of these pieces of shit, you will understand.

Suck is an understatement. I had the misfortune of getting one with a SuperPac. It too was very very dim, but had deflection and faint hint of color but no brightness. Screen didn't help much other than to change blooming. Tube tested fine when connected to a TV chassis. Got a cap kit, but haven't started to do it after washing the chassis's 3 core parts and all the interconnects 2 years ago. Don't even think I will be able to reassemble it and make it function.

And what's with the MDF board it's mounted too instead of a metal plate on the frame .. direct from WG with their stickers glued to it so it appeared original.

I just finished capping my first Zenith 19" today... not for the faint of heart. Tip- keep the schematic(s) with you, mark all of the ribbon cables, note how it comes apart, you will have that sinking feeling once it's all in pieces.

I must say, once completed, it really looks terrific.

I now think a K7000 is a piece of cake.
