Does anyone know what woulod cause a Wells K4900 to just die?
It was working, but needed a cap kit.

I did the cap kit and now nothing...no neck glow...ZERO.

I checked the fuse, it still got continuity and I pulled the chassis again to make sure all the caps were installed correctly...and they are.
I unplugged and made sure all the connections were plugged in correctly...and they were.

So right now it's playing blind.

I'm out of answers.
Anyone have an idea.

I appreciate it.

What could cause either to just go?

All I did was a cap kit.

How can I test to see?

a ring tester can test the flyback to see if its good

maybe you flexed the board and theres a crack somewhere
could be the HOT was on its last legs anyway or even the flyback was too
i thought the flyback on the 4900 were tough
solder splatter shorting something

any resistors looking burnt
test the HOT

If the horizontal output transistor or flyback went, generally it takes out the fuse with it. And when flybacks go, you usually know it due to the smell.

Check the B+. Go over the chassis again looking for solder bridges or cold solder joints. Touch up /every/ joint on the neckboard.

4900

check your solder pad connections and continuity with the next solder pad.
check for a crack joint on a jumper, top middle-right position.
