Hi, I am in need of 1 or several Wells Gardner V1001 Filter Can Capacitors. These are the tall capacitors that are on the main chasis of the Space Invaders Wells Gardner B+W monitors. They are mounted right next to main transformer on the metal monitor chasis. The cap has 4 internal capacitors inside- 800 MF/125V, 200MF/100V, 200MF/50V, 20MF/200V. If someone has a couple of these please PM me with a price. These will fix a Space Invaders monitor that has the slow hum bars moving right to left across the screen. Bob Roberts does not have these anymore. Thanks, Jon Hughes.

Finding one of these old style can caps is going to be hard - especially in exactly the right values. They haven't made them in years, and any you find are probably already going to be old and dried out.

Just replace it with four individual modern parts. Those values are obsolete too, but use 820uf/125V, 220uf/100V, 220uf/50V, 22uf/200V. The tiny amount of extra capacitance won't affect anything - it's well within tolerance.

Hey thanks, I was wondering if I was able to do that and just use 4 separate caps? Hopefully I can make all of them fit and use the common -neg/ground solder trace for the 4 neg. legs.

There is a guy making these in the midwest. There was a thread on it. I don't remember the name of the place but I bought one from him. it was not cheap, about $23 shipped, but it looks great. Let me see if i can find the name of the place.

With old TV sets and radios, where there isn't enough room under the chassis, I've "restuffed" the old can with new parts.

Shouldn't have any problem with a V1001 though.

I think I got mine from the same place, seemed like it was slightly under $20 shipped for me. Since the NOS ones were going for close to $30 I didn't think it was a bad deal.

Let's see, it was DH Distributors, their phone number is 888-684-0050.
