I just got a Neo Geo machine with a Wells Gardner K7191 inside. Problem is the monitor is not getting power. The reason? Well, the power lines have been cut.

I noticed that the transformer is completely missing, which I assume ran the monitor. Inside the cabinet there are two standard power supplies. One is powering the game, the other isn't hooked up to anything.

I'm wondering if I can use that un-used power supply to run the monitor since it outputs 12V. I'm also assuming the monitor takes in 12V so correct me if I'm wrong.

Pictures can be provided.

Thanks.

No, the monitor needs 120vAC. The component you are missing is the isolation transformer - it is a 1:1 transformer - takes in 120VAC and outputs 120VAC. It's crucial to the operation of your monitor - don't try to hook it up without one!

You can buy a replacement isolation transformer from Bob Roberts, or scavenge one from another game (and I suppose, someone else already did this, but it was your game that got scavenged <grin>)
