Well I couldn't find a monitor locally so I ordered one off the bay. I got it in the mail, adjusted it and it was working great, installed in in the cabinet and it was still working great. The other day I went to play the game and the pictured was all out of focus, so I adjusted it then today I went to play the game and the monitor was out of focus again. I tired to adjust the focus again but it can't be adjusted any farther. Before I write the seller and tell him the problem, I was wondering if there is an adjustment that needs to be made? The board is suppose to be fully recapped too. I do still have my recapped board from the monitor that had server burn in that I can swamp in too. I was hoping my restore would be done...but I guess its a never ending project.

Is that your "out of focus" pic? Your blue convergence is off a bit...

Yep, strange it was really bad when you started it up. Now I go down stairs to take another and it seems fine. I will adjust the blue, what is the best way to adjust the red/blue/green? So hard to adjust the picture, suppose I need to arrange some mirrors.

The reason I could never be a repairman, I want everything perfect. Even though its working/appears fine to others :D

Well finally got an out of focus picture, just turned it on a minute ago and this is the picture I am getting on the monitior.

Well the monitor works, so emailng the seller would not be best. It looks like the flyback is not workng properly to hold focus. On my 4600, the flyback has a focus adjustment on it, does yours?

Yep, I have the focus adjustment adjusted as far as it will go. I was also thinking its a problem with the flyback.

Pull off the neckboard and make sure the focus pin on the tube isn't bent.

Also, check that the wire from the flyback to the neck socket is soldered on good inside the socket (pop the back of the socket off)...

Great tip advice!

I checked the wire to the neck socket on my 4600 when I rebuilt it. It was fine on mine and easy to do but worth a check for sure Cooljjay!

I checked all the wires and pins, everything looked fine. I didn't reflow any solder. I just gave up and put in the board from my old monitior that I recaped. The picture is great now. What was strange with the old board is that the pin for the vert raster shift wasn't on the center pin is was on the right pin, when I switched it, the picture got all distorted. Do you guys think I should contact the seller and ask for a partial refund?

The pins are for shifting the picture either up/down or left/right. My guess is that when you shifted the screen, you put it just out of wack enough that the hor or vert hold would need to be readjusted slightly to get it to hold steady again.
