I pulled a Gorf monitor to find a sadly green oxidized interface board. Every component. I think I might be able to save the components with a fiberglass pen however I still really can't get at the connector pins at J201 and J202 6 pin sockets very well.
Does anyone know if mouser or digikey might carry replacement parts #'s for the wells gardner part #204x9300-958 sockets?

You'll be best off finding someone who's got a couple in nice shape off an old one.....those are the connectors on the daughter card correct? PM me, I may be able to help?

If you even find these connectors.....please post. I've been casually hunting for them for years!

These are 6 pin SIP connectors, right angle. .156 pitch I believe. I'll be hanged if I can find a place that sells them though. They are actually 7 pin KK type connectors but one of them is keyed. I can find the straight through type but not the right angle.

Ok I think I finally found a winner here. Although they are like $1.88 a piece.
But this might work for the WG K4600 interface card.

Monitor guru's please take a look at this link and let me know how well a replacement this might be. I really need to get some on order fast. I pulled the old connector and as I was attempting to remove the pins to remove the internal oxidation, one just wouldn't come out and the solder pin finally crumbled off.

Never mind. Couldn't wait any longer. Ordered them. Will let you know how they worked out.

Bumping this to find out how those connectors worked out. A friend just got a dozen of the hor/ver cards and every one of them has the original connectors all busted up (need to be replaced).

So if the suggested Molex ones work, I'll have my friend order those.

Ah - sorry I forgot to post the follow-up. Wow that was a ways back. Anyways, no they didn't work out. They said they were about .156 pitch but they were just a hair off. More like a .187.

Chad at arcadecup sent me a dead donor card that I could pull the connectors off of and repurpose.

Yea, two then the index, then 4. Hate to see simple parts get obsoleted. Makes it really hard.

i could definately use 15-20 of these. i have about 40-50 cards and i bet there is at least 15-20 of them that could use a replacement. i wonder if they can ever cost effectively be remade. if so i would probably be in for 30-50 of them.

I wonder if Ed at Great Plains Electronics knows who made the original connectors and if they are still available? If not available, could he get them remade?

To whom are you asking this? If a source is discovered I'm definitely in the market to pick up a stock worth of perhaps 25 as I don't want to have this occur again. Granted in the last 20 years I've only required one of these.

Bumping this back up to the top.

Did anyone ever find a replacement socket for the daughter cards on a K4600?

aren't they roughly the same thing as the ones used on Williams System 7 pinball? granted I think those are .156, but I wonder if the 4600 pins would fit.

No they aren't because the 4600 connectors are polarized by a special pin spacing in one position.
