Wells Gardner Chassis Model 19K7302 - What style tube will fit?

Little history first. I bought a chassis & frame from YellowDog a while back. I am now trying to find a tube so I can get this up and running.

Anyone have any idea on what kind of tube I need for a 19k7302?

I have a 19VLTP22 tube in which a CR23 adapter fits. I found a post that said...

Chasis board number is WG 1435338
Tube number is Samsung Type A48KRD82X02

So I checked his tube number against the B/K chart and its a cr23 as well.

So I figure my 19k7302 chassis will fit the 19VLTP22 tube I have but it doesn't. Its two fat for the neck board to slip up on.

So either mr chang is mistaken about his tube# or the cr23 comes in fat or skinny.

Can anyone give me a second opinion?

That needs a CR-31 tube. They're really common in TV sets made in the mid/late 90's. I don't know what the yoke impedance is for the 7302, but I know on the older 7000's, it was something like 17 ohms/3.2 ohms, and I was able to use the tube and yoke from a TV and got a perfect picture.

So, yeah, find out what the impedance is supposed to be for that chassis, and look for a narrow neck TV tube with a compatible yoke. Shouldn't be hard to find.

That certainly help me out big time. Thank you very much for that post.

Just to add to this.....7203s are Frankensteins.....I've had some with CR23 compatible tubes.....and some with CR31 compatible tubes.

I've seen some neckboards that are printed for both - two sets of holes in the board, so either socket could be installed. Probably so the manufacturer could use whatever kind of tube was cheaper at the moment.
