Hi, I just bought a time crisis 2 single with CRT monitor.
The manual says the monitor should be a 29" Toei or Nanao, but the board looks like a WG and the adjustment board doesn't match anything pictures in the manual.

looking inside from what I can (it's hard to get it too much from the back) it certainly looks like a WG monitor chassis, and it does look like the monitor was replaced (I can see part of a service sticker from somewhere) and there's a tag on the monitor chasses
WG 1574344

but I cannot find ANY 29" inch WG crt info on their web page.
does anyone know anything if they made a 29" monitor? I'm just trying to order a cap kit and trying to find the right one.

Hi there... I have two of those and have recently completed a tube swap on one and chassis repair on the other. I spent some time trying to figure out exactly what was in there because some of the documentation said they had 29" monitors. Can't remember where exactly, but it was misleading. I drove around looking for a 29" TV and finally found a 30". It just didn't look right. It was way too big. I went with my gut feeling and grabbed a 27" TV instead. Turns out that both of mine have 27" crt's. Look on the tube for a label that starts with something like: A68_xxxxxx. That's the prefix for 27" tube.

I read that they measure the face of the crt at 29 " but only 27" of it is viewable on this page :

My original tube was an A63AJB82X03. I replaced it with the salvaged 27" TV tube and it fit perfectly. The donor's model number also started with A68.

One of mine has a Kortek KT-2901M chassis and the other has a Wei Ya something or another. Hopefully you can find a model number on a sticker or printed on the circuit board once you get it removed. I couldn't find any info on the number you posted. You can even take some pics and compare them to others on the mighty Google to identify the chassis in order to get the correct cap kit. Good luck with your repair!

Cool thx for the info. I'm pretty sure it's a wg chassis so that makes sense if it's 27". I could find any info that wg ever made a 29" on there website but they certainly made 27s. I will check the tube label as I can see a zenith sticker. But that's probably what it is.

Someday I need to learn how to swap tubes to fix up some of my classics before the tubes are all gone. The county landfill at my house people are always dropping off crts often looks like 19 or 25" tubes every time I go.

that is correct they are 27inch viewable. i have picked up a few of the original monitors when people converted them to lcd and were giving those old ones away. they are so F...ing heavy its crazy.

Heh. It is remarkable how another inch screen size seems to add on 20 pounds. I have a 19" tube in an old CRT TV in my house that I'm saving for if I get a cab with a 19" monitor. The yoke readings mean that it would be a near straight drop in for a K7000.

It's actually kind of satisfying to do a tube swap and see a bright, crisp, beautiful picture.

I agree with you 100%. Those bigger monitors get way heavier by the inch! I hope you find a nice game in need of that tv tube :)

Mine ended up being a k74xx got the cap kit done yesterday and working perfectly now!
