i have a sega super hang on with a Wells- Gardner 19K7901. the monitor powers on probably 1 out of 20 times you plug it in. it is receiving between 122.7-123.1 volts. when the monitor came on it was clear and looked great. i unplugged it probably two times and and it came back on but after that nothing. you can hear the monitor power on but no glow or anything else. need help please.

probably a cold solder joint on the chassis.

read the sticky and re-flow all the problem areas and see if that fixes it.

if it has not had a cap kit and fly replacement do that as well it will look better afterwords.

checked for a cold solder and all the connections. the fuse is good, put everything back together and same. i am new to this stuff but if there is power to the monitor, shouldnt it glow or light up at least.

no not necessarily. if it is in HV shutdown it wont come on at all.

you should really do a cap kit and fly replacement on it.
this will eliminate alot of possible issues.

K7000's are prone to cap and fly failures.
and bad/cracked traces due to heat stress.

check around all the big resisters. wiggle them with your fingers they will probably have cold solder joints on them.
especially around R101, R96 and R98.

this is stupid, i go out to work on the game today and the monitor wont come on now............................................................................

The solder joints and traces can't be trusted to a visual inspection. You really need to wiggle all the big parts while watching the traces underneath, and jumper anything that even hints at moving.

I just fixed one of these that was dead (among other problems) and it was due to connections at C50 & C57...

well i think i just toasted the monitor. i plugged it in and there was a black screen with a green line across it and after a minute or so i heard a fizzling sound and the green line went away and it didnt smell too good.

my guess is that the fly went. that usually is what happens when you hear a fuzz sound them nothing.

it probably took the H.O.T, VR, fuse, and possibly a cap or two when it went.

sounds like another rebuild is needed, except the caps.

bought a new...to me.. chassis. from a reputable company that stated it was working. put my neckboard on the chassis. everything was going great until i plugged in the game................................nothing, again!!!WTF

dumb question do you have an iso in the cab. i just want to make sure.

it seems like you have a problem with your neck board.

another dumb question are you hooking up the dag wire.
its the wire that runs from the strap around the tube to the neck board.

one of theses two things seems to be your problem.

i'm sorry. i dont know what that looks like or is. this game is still stock so if it came with one chances are it is still there. where is the isolation transformer and what do i look for that is bad. on my old chassis it was intermittent if it worked or not.
