hi all, i was hoping someone here could help me figure out a slight problem im having.
i recently purchased an xbox to jamma convertor and am having some video issues.....

the pins on the monitor are as follows

1 Red
2 Green
3 Blue
4 Ground 1
5 +V Sync
6 +H Sync

7 Ground 2
8 -V Sync
9 -H Sync

wires from the jamma are:

Red
Green
Blue
Ground
Sync

Wires are running as follows:

Jamma Monitor
Red ----------- Red
Blue ----------- Blue
Green ---------- Green
Ground --------- Ground 1
+V Sync
+H Sync
Ground
Sync ----------- -HSync
-VSync

and this is the image i get:

Should i be connecting the jamma ground to the other ground on the monitor?
or combining syncs t get rid of the white fuzz?

thank you.

okay, let's start here. This is what you say the monitor has (corrected the numbering):

the pins on the monitor are as follows

1 Red
2 Green
3 Blue
4 Ground 1
5 +V Sync
6 +H Sync
7 Blank (Key)
8 Ground 2
9 -V Sync
10 -H Sync

And this is how you say it is hooked up:

Red ----------- Red
Blue ----------- Blue
Green ---------- Green
Ground --------- Ground 1
+V Sync
+H Sync
Blank
Ground
Sync ----------- -HSync
-VSync

If you'll notice, you typed the negative syncs in backwards. If you DO actually have it connected to the sync pin next to the Ground, then you need to move it to the #10 pin.

So, using the wiring from your JAMMA connector:

wires from the jamma are:

Red
Green
Blue
Ground
Sync

it should be connected like this:

1 - Red
2 - Green
3 - Blue
4 - Ground
5 - Empty
6 - Empty
7 - Space
8 - Empty
9 - Empty
10 - Sync

forgive me.

i have it connected the way you said, i was so frustrated earlier i must have missed my error.

so i have it connected like this

1 - Red
2 - Green
3 - Blue
4 - Ground
5 - Empty
6 - Empty
7 - Space
8 - Empty
9 - Empty
10 - Sync

and still i get the white fuzz on the screen.

i've been reading the manual for this monitor and it seems there is a two controls i cant see or find, or maybe they arent on my model

horiz raster position and
horiz size.

would they have any effect?

could the fuzz be some kind of maintence hum?

thank you for your reply.

No in this case, although the picture looks very small.

Could be. you could try connecting a ground wire to the monitor frame, or unplugging your marquee light to see if it has an effect.

Of another concern is that some K7600's are medium-res or dual-res, and it's possible that the resolution rating of the chassis doesn't match the board you are trying to run....

the board i am trying to run is an xbox to jamma converter.
here is the link to the adapter

i suspected it would and was under the illusion that it would run straight away.

that image i've supplied isnt small its just a vertical game squashed a little on a horizontal monitor.

why is it that evrything seems easier than it really is.

no xbox games are that i know of. but im running mame on the xbox and it was just a vertical shooter that was displaying....

i tried unplugging the light but the fuzz on screen still appears.

just to clarify the screen looks perfect with my neo geo plugged in.
