Hello all.

I have a Pole Position that actually works (PP II boards).. but have been having monitor problems with it for the last year (colors off, image won't fill screen, adjustment knob on board is broken.. etc). I know NOTHING about fixing monitors.. so trying to repair the current one is probably not an option for me.

I have a friend who pulled a wells gardner 19k4625 out of an old cabinet. We don't know yet if it works, but he said I could have it for my PP cabinet if it will work. The monitor is currently 4 hours away from me, so I can't just look to see if it will work in my cab or not. So before I go all the way to get it, I wanted to find out if this is even worth bothering with?

Thanks!

That monitor is standard resolution and should be a drop in replacement for your PP. Of course, it will likely need to be rebuilt and the amount of work involved in the rebuild is almost as much work as fixing your current monitor. Do you know what your current monitor is?

I am not sure what my current monitor is. Although I have been messing around with arcade cabinets for a few years now, I only know the bare basics about original cabinets (I know more about MAME conversions and stuff like that.. but also trying to learn about all original cabinets). So please bear with me if I say the wrong thing or can't answer a simple question. I am trying to learn this stuff... a little at a time.

I will pull the PP cabinet out and try to identify what the monitor is. The only thing I remember about it is that there is a little control panel with adjusting knobs (color, brightness, v hold, etc) that is separate from the main monitor board and connected via a cable (I guess so that you could mount it near the coin door and make adjustments from the front of the cab while looking at the screen). I tried to find a name on the monitor last time I looked.. but couldn't find one. I guess I can also take some pics and post them here.

The monitor was great when I got the cabinet (about 3 years ago).. and worked perfectly for about a year. And then one morning I turned the cabinet on and the colors were off. I tried playing with every knob I could find (the ones that were obvious for adjusting the monitor).. and could never get the colors right. And that is when I noticed that one of the knobs was also broken.

Thanks!

Will do... but may take me a few days. The game is currently in my garage and I will need to move some stuff around in order to get behind the game.

I really want to get this one working again. I know the typical problem with Pole Position cabinets is the game boards not working. So seems kind of silly to have a PP that is not running simply because of some monitor issues!

Thanks again.
