Wells Gardener 19K7901

Ok, now there is something wrong. I decided to test it today because before I cut it off last night on a test run it started making a odd noise, kinda like small electrical arc like humms..........i checked the back but see nothing visibly going wrong....but it was slow at first and then sped up. Anyways, today it stayed on for about 8 minutes and then the screen cuts off with no picture but still humming like its on. I re-adjusted the 50-60HZ pot that I adjusted last night and the weird noise disappeared, but it still cuts off after a few minutes. Much shorter if its warm........

Jeez...........it ran alright when I kept it on for adjustments and that was more like 30-45 min....

Now it will cut off, then on with scrambled graphics and sprites.......

Going to test a different game in this when I get home from work tonight.

Make sure the dag wire is connected. Measure your B+ while it's working, humming, off, whatever...

Not familiar with measuring the B+ on any chasis (never have), much less I don't have alligator clips for my multimeter (*cringe*). However, yes the Dag is connected and I swapped out games this time. I put in one of my less important boards "Bottom of the Ninth" (not a sports fan) and have been running for the past 40 or so minutes and no issues, besides a slight noise near first power up like I explained before......more like a electrical arc crackle that speeds up and the disappears. Hopefully no components should be arcing (just a description of the noise) and the anode cap is secured to its fitting on the tube nice and tight. The typical humming noise is a little loud, but given there is no monitor glass, the back is wide open, and the game speaker is not wired up so there is nothing to dampen any noise.

I think it just hates warming up, because the noise will disappear completely if it runs long enough.........besides the typical humming you hear from these things powered on.
