I have a wells D9200 monitor that works great in VGA mode but in CGA/EGA it will work but when something flashes on the screen the monitor will click. Also there are ghost like diagonal lines that are hard to see but always there. The pictures show the diagonal lines. There is some other lines in the pictures just from the reflection on the monitor. The diagonal ones are the problem lines.
Thanks!

Looks kinda like a bad video GND. Try tying earth ground to logic ground inside the cabinet.

What game are you running on the monitor in the pics? Those 9200's dont play nice will all games even though they should.

The game is Marvel vs Capcom. I also tried Street Fighter 2 in there and it does the same thing.

When I was looking at the video ground from the monitor I saw that it was going to the normal ground at the ends of the harness at positions 1,2,27,28 of the Jamma Harness. So I moved it to the actual video ground at position 14 on the Jamma harness and there was NO change in the diagonal bars or the clicks when it flashes.

How exactly do I tie earth ground to logic ground?

Awesome I tied the ground from the Jamma Harness to the Ground of the cab and the diagonal lines are gone! Picture looks great.
BUT... When the screen flashes the monitor still clicks. Any ideas about this?

Try doing a memory recall in the factory menu...
Tried that and no change.

Make sure the game sync wire is only connected to the -H sync and not jumpered to the -V.

What is the game sync wire? The picture below is from the D9200 schematics. I did the RGB and video ground to the Jamma Harness as normal and the pin marked V in the picture to the to the VIDEO SYNC on the Jamma harness. The 6th pin marked H/V Comp I don't have anything going there. Did I mess something up? Is this what you meant by game sync?

That "V" is for vertical sync. You should have the sync wire from your jamma harness connected to the H/V COMP pin. That will probably get rid of the tearing and clicking but my not do anything about the noise in the video

Ken said it, that is likely your problem. seen it a million times when sync is hooked up to v&h at the same time.. good luck!. otherwise could be a color / settings / controller .. small 8 pin ic.. i do have programed ones here new. worth a shot if removing the one sync wire does not solve. forgot ic # i can check though i think ic103 if i recall correctly.

I checked the H/V comp pin and it was already going to the V-Sync on the Jamma Harness and the "V" pin goes to nothing.

Update... It started losing the picture and shaking when something flashed. Now it looks like this green trapezoid looking thing and will occasionally flash into a good looking picture then back to the trapezoid.

*update*
I did a huge capkit (70+ pieces) on the monitor (special thanks to Slackmoe for helping me with it). Now the picture looks great but I am still getting these diagonal lines. I thought I had them fixed but they seemed to come back. When I first turn on the monitor it looks good but then after 5 minutes the diagonal lines seem to show up but are very faint.

Any other ideas how I can solve this? Does video ground ever get tied into regular ground? Here is some more pictures of what is going on.

Have you tried tying earth ground to logic ground inside the cabinet? Those lines are probably coming from the signal source and not being generated on the monitor chassis.

Can you supply signal to the monitor from another cab?

I tied all the grounds I could find together and in VGA mode the diagonal bars are very very faint pretty much gone and in CGA/EGA it has really strong bars and some rolling/tearing of the image now and it didn't have it before. Any ideas? Thanks!
