Hey Guys, I just got a Golden Tee 2006 Complete cab and got it home to find the monitor didn't work, which I knew when I bought it. I have just completed a cap kit as there were a few popped caps and all the caps look good. Unfortunately after all of this and getting it hooked back up there is still no neck glow (on a side note none of my caps popped or sizzled, but I think that is due to a lack of power getting to them.) Everything in the cab looks good and the monitor doesn't look damaged in any way so I think it was treated OK. I can verify that there is 120V going to the monitor over the Black, Green and White cable in the back left corner of the board as it's oriented in my cab. I'm not inexperienced with electronics, but am inexperienced with arcade monitors. Can any of you possibly point me to a good resource for my monitor with some tests I can run and trace down where my issue is? I have pictures of the board pre cap kit, and am happy to take a few post cap kit pic's as well if that will help. I do know that the board is booting up when I hit the power to the machine which is giving me a hard drive error (I can actually handle that issue lol) as I can get a feed when i plug the VGA into my computer monitor. So I think that as there is a video feed coming out of the board my issues can't lie outside of the monitor itself.

I would also gladly pay any of you in the mid-Ohio area to look over my board with me and see what we can come up with. Thanks again for your help and I hope to be up and playing soon.

I just checked it and I have continuity. I'm assuming that the fuse you are talking about is the one under the plastic cover near the 120 input. If there is another one I should check just let me know. Thank you for giving me a start of things to check.

Just as an update I did find the manuals for this monitor on the WG site today (not sure why I didn't see them before) and will read those over this evening, however I would still appreciate anyone's opinions on what to test in a most common order of events to get this thing juiced up. Thanks again everyone.

Check the bridge, when the caps whent it may have blown a leg on the bridge, on my k7000 the bridge was made up of 4 diodes and one took a dump, take your ohm meater to them, check side a to side b, and then side b to side a, that will tell you for sure if its good. I say that because you may get a reading in 1 direction but not coming from the other direction , then its bad. . .

Couple things to check:

1) Test Point 202 should read +130vdc. That's your B+.

2) Check R823 and look for bad traces around the flyback. Either one could keep your heater voltage (which causes neck glow) from getting to the socket.

3) If your B+ is reading 0vdc, check R100, R101, and R108. Test D105 and D107 thru D114. Check U101. Check capacitors C100, C110, and C117.

4) If your B+ is lower than 130 but not 0, check R100, C107, and C155.

5) If your B+ is higher than 130, check the voltage at U701 pin 10. It should be 9 volts. The reading there will determine what to check next...
