Ok ... I suck. I am attempting to use a 19k4613 with a jamma setup. (a neo geo 1 slot pcb)
This monitor was working and syncing correctly in a Defender cabinet.

I can not get this thing to sync and lock in correctly!
I am using the existing video sync wires on the monitor.
wire colors:
purple/green
purple/red
purple/blue
purple/white
purple
black

Tried every wire combination I can think of. Is there something I need to do get this to work with a jamma? I admit defeat on such an easy task.

I got a 4600 in my Qix a few weeks back and the video was screwed up and looked like a sync problem. It wasn't unstable but it was really screwed up and wrapped horizontally a bunch of times. I had to adjust the Horizontal Oscillator on the Horizontal/Vertical board (right board when viewed from behind). It is in a square metal can with a flat head slot in the opening for you to get an adjustment tool in there. It is marked as L351. Try adjusting that to see if you can get the picture to straighten out. Once I adjusted that thing for my Qix game board, then I had to adjust it to work with my monitor tester. So that thing sucks as far as I am concerned, but hopefully you don't have to adjust it when you swap boards.

Worth a shot anyway.

I have tried all adjustments . I have the picture locked in ... but its far too high and to the left..... cutting off the left side. I suck.

Did you move the jumper wires? There are jumpers for coarser adjustment than the pots do on the main board. I didn't have to move them on mine, but it sounds like you may need too.

Edit: Your supposed to turn off the monitor when moving the jumper just in case you didn't know. :)

ok... figured it out. I switched out the video interface board for one that had the separate "posts" for sync and a different sync harness to match. The one i had in it for defender did not have the separate 2 prong connecter. I still think it should have worked the other way somehow .. but its working now .. and thats all I care about.

Thanks so much for the advise.

Defender uses positive sync, and the Defender video cable is wired for positive sync. IIRC Jamma uses composite negative sync.

I am soon to be installing a jrok multi williams board in my old stargate cab. It currently has "phraze craze" in it that is not jamma. It also does not have the original williams harness. Should I be concerned with a positive sync problems during the install? Mine is a WGk4613. Works fine except the focus at this point.

I posted the focus problem in another thread. I will be replacing the tape wrapped cap soon and will take pics.

Thank you.
