Well, you can't fix them all.

I picked up a stripped, water damaged Ms Pacman a few months ago with the intentions of either making it a home for my Super Pacman parts or covert it to Galaga. After watching the Flood Pac restore videos by another KLOVer (name escapes me at the moment), I was pleasantly excited to start the project. When I picked it up a whole ton of wood dust came out of it. No worries, just happy to have it. It's been stored in my garage, and everytime I move it more dust would come out of it. It's now been undisturbed for over a month and I was surprised to see the huge pile of wood powder under the one side. Apparently in addition to the water damage it also has a bad infestation of powder post beetles. Decided it wasn't worth trying to save the rot in addition to the beetle damage. Gave the "decent" side a few whacks with a rubber mallet and it popped off in one piece. I'll use this side to make a router template. Despite the decent arcade fresh side art the useable side also shows signs of powder post beetles. After measurements and patterns are made all the of the cabinet will be burned. I just hope that I didn't spread these damn beetles into my garage while this cabinet was in there!

***I forgot these pics were taken with my phone vertically so they come out sideways here. I'll fix that when I get home later.

i would of just traced the old the sides with new wood and re-nailed + re-glued it.

i really like the challenge.

Wow that has the appearance of actual termite infestation.

Could totally have that back together with a little Bondo.

not to steal OP's thunder, but earlier this week I picked up a SWEEEEET Tron!

I got it really cheap, and I knew going in that it would need a bit of work. what do you guys think? personally, I think it's ready to go in the basement with the other games, but I'm thinking a little bondo and new t-molding is all it needs to be in 9/10 condition.

New side art and T molding and you're all set! Make sure the black lights work too. And you may need some glue...and some prayers.

That's what I thought at first, but in doing some research it is spot on for powder post beetle damage, including the small exit holes in the side of the cabinet that the adult beetles make on their way out to mate.

You need to move it closer to the equator, so that the slight increase in gravity will naturally compress it back into a full Tron cabinet.
