Back in Dec of last year I got a non working Star Wars. After cleaning the board connections it fired up and played blind. I had the monitor rebuilt and the game played fine for 3 weeks. I had installed the Empire kit right after getting the game working and it always played fine. After 3-4 weeks the monitor tweaked out and the spot killer came on. After having the monitor fixed it lasted for 1 game and spot killer came on again, I tried it in my Space Duel and it still had the spot killer so I know the monitor was an issue. Today I got another rebuily monitor, the game played fine for 10 min and then the monitor tweaked out. It flickered and the picture shrunk to 75% of the size. After shutting the game off and back on it worked fine for a min and tweaked out. Is there an issue with my board that could be hurting my monitors? I rebuilt the AR/II and replaced big blue after the monitor crapped out the first time, The AR/II ran in my Tempest for quite a while without an issue. I'm afraid to do anything with this game, it's my favorite game and I can't touch it! Any help would be appreciated.

So it sounds like a WG6100 Monitor

Try checking all the DAG springs (Braided cable strap) and associated connectors first, I will look at the schematic and post again

Yeah, it's a 6100. I think I'm going to throw it in my Space Duel to see how it runs. I'm worried my SW is doing damage to my monitors but at this point I'm just guessing. I've spent the last few days trying to decide if I want to sell all 3 and find a new grail that I can actually play....:(

Unless you plan to learn to work on those things, it's not a bad idea. Paying people to work on vector games can get expensive real quick.

I guess I need to forget about farming this stuff out, man up and start fixing it myself. I'm not worried about doing the work, I'm decent at electronics but was worried about messing up my vector games. Are there any good repair guides for the vector monitors? I'd like to find a guide that will show me all the trouble spots and things to reflow.
