I'm curious if anyone has seen this art or knows the origin. It must be reproduction as I can't find a single picture online of this panel decal on a Q*Bert. It looks worn and almost original.

I was thinking it looked like a Willis. I just found this old thread, has one for sale:

Very interesting! That's exactly it. We have a Ms. Pac-Man that has weird art too and it matches the Willis art. Were they just non-licensed alternatives back in the day?

What you talking 'bout Willis?

Or this link:

Which means it's probably a bootleg. Because it doesn't look like @rotheblog Willis version.

Maybe they had more than one?

It's a bootleg.

I have one of those in my art stash. Talked with Warren Davis while @ CAX, while having it signed - he said he's never seen that one before either.

I'd like to meet Warren one day. I just finished reading his book. Good stuff. He really innovated. I also had no idea he was the voice of Wet Willy in White Water pinball.

He's been at CAX many of the last several years. Super nice guy, and very accessible. He loves talking to people.

(In case anyone needs another reason to come to CAX.) :)

Despite being a bootleg, not a terrible looking CPO, compared to some other bootleg CPOs.

Did everyone know there was a Q*Bert handheld pinball game (cardboard covered with a plastic cover)? I've only ever seen one and gave it to another collector, since they really like Q*Bert. I regret not taking a picture of it.

Don't recall seeing that one, but do recall seeing this one:
