Incorrect. With that daughtercard installed, it will not use the EPROMs on the main board. There are many possible reasons why it isn't working, but it's probably not the daughter card that has the issue. It would appear that SMB is loaded correctly, as it is only meant to run properly on the 1-2 side of the PCB.
First thing I would do is reseat the daughter board fully, as well as the chips and PPU, then I would try a different CPU. If still the same issue, odds are one of the EPROMs is bad. Some people on the site can burn you a new set to try.
I'm not familiar with that particular daughtercard, but they usually run code from the PRG1/2 sockets on the card. Seems odd that it would not block access to the ROM bank on the main board… but you have it working, so it must be so. The daughtercard might be interfering with the shared CMOS RAM access, which would cause SMB not to work.I've got VS Pinball on mine, works just fine. Unless SMB is unique in a different way other than the requirement to be on the 1-2 side, why wouldn't it work?

Try this...I've been through dozens of these boards. It's USUALLY either the daughter board/EPROM chips isn't seated right, the CPU went bad, or one of the EPROMS went bad.First thing I would do is reseat the daughter board fully, as well as the chips and PPU, then I would try a different CPU. If still the same issue, odds are one of the EPROMs is bad. Some people on the site can burn you a new set to try.
