Wei-Ya Chassis Questions

Page 4 of this document explains the yoke wiring for Electrohome to Weiya/Eygo:

I believe that switch is for selecting the type of sync signal you are sending to it: positive or negative (JAMMA is negative).

It looks like you have correctly connected the degausser coil to the correct terminals.

You should Americanize that chassis so it's compatible with test equipment as described here:

Many "universal" chassis have two yoke connectors: one gives a normal picture and the other gives a "mirror image" for use in cabinets where you look at the monitor picture bounced off a mirror such as T2 or Operation Wolf.

Im finally getting around to working on this. So tonight I took off the old header and was about to put on the new KK header (see pics) and I see that they will never line up. I didn't yet order the connector you are refering to but I can't imagine it will work either. This chassis pcb only has one set of video sync inputs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike Martin

The Wei-yas I've seen had three sets of holes for the video/sync inputs so you could choose the connector you desired.

Any chance you could drill new holes without damaging any traces on the backside of the board?

Nope. See attached. I ordered this from the guy in Ga. We should be seeing more of these.

I think I'll just use bullet quick disconnects. Just so I can get this thing tested.

I'm not even sure it works at this point. I'm going to put the original header back on and try using the Jamma connector. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe I'll figure out another solution.

I wish the foreign chassis manufacturers would stop using that "phony" connector and use conventional Molex ones when chassis are destined for North America use.

That's what I ended up doing with a WG k7000 hookup. Didn't have the proper connector laying around and with insulated bullets the connection is tight and safe anyway.

Do you know if the Wei-ya 820H Chassis will work on 100V AC with ISO Trans?

That's a conventional chassis so I don't think it would like only 100 volts. You could try it though, but it may not power up reliably every time due to lower than normal operating parameters. It might work ok.
