installed a wei-ya chassis on a 25" monitor. monitor turns on and there is a faint glow from yoke. screen was still black so I turned up the brightness and thought I could just barely make out some words (but could have been my imagination). all I get is a kind of gray background and if I mess with the vsize etc, I can see this faint gray change shapes. but I get no picture and no color. thoughts?

thanks

what game are you trying to use with this chassis? keep in mind that ones found on fleebay are all standard resolution....

did you hook all cables up correctly, grnd wire, degauss etc... check and recheck...
I bought one of those wei-ya and posted my results > https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=420418

you shdnt have to mess with any of the pots at first, if you see no picture then something is wrong and moving pots is a waste of time....
what are yoke readings from that tube you are using ? if thy aren't close to it then, it wont work...

in my example, I am using a wells gardner 25" tube that had a 25k7401 chassis
my readings are VR: 8.6 & HR: 3.1 wei-ya states VR: 9.6 & HR: 1.3
if I adj the vertical size on remote board screen is ok
This is with the b+ all way down

I measured before I purchased. I think it was like 1.6 and 7. specs were over 1.3 and between 6 and 12. looked at yoke wiring and that may be wrong. the new yoke harness is red, blue, yellow, green and my old yoke is red, blue, white, yellow.

Red/Blue = H
Yellow/Green = V

I'm going to try and fool with mine some more tomorrow to dial it in... btw what game are you using with this chassis?

Wei-ya=Remove from box, deposit in trash. Box is more
useful then the chassis.

maybe you should try and be helpful instead of insulting some1, not every1 is fortunate in sourcing orig parts. cause I'm in same sit as the op....

here is what I found out today

these 2 jumpers do affect image size. what I discovered by moving just the top one by the flyback cage from right to the left position as you see
now affects its horizontal size. by doing so, I was able to dial in the settings ( from adjusting pots ) for sf2ww, neogeo etc. umk3 you would have to adj it some but its
image is dead center. the b+ I had it all the way down from last attempt but cranked it about 1/4 up or so to get the image dead center...
also, I was messing with pincushion on main chassis, h-hold believe it or not did affect position some so turn it so slightly. once h-hold was set
I then fine tuned image with hsize and h position

I didn't think about that. but typically when I have a gt board set on the wrong resolution I still see a picture, its just all messed up. on this I see nothing. its easy enough to swap in another board I have to test.

The only people I'm insulting are the Wei Ya people. Their chassis
are garbage.

I agree that the chassis shown above is garbage but I don't think it's made by weiya but rather by some chinese company (weiya is from taiwan) that is ripping them off. Weiya may not be the best monitor manufacturer but their products are at least designed with some decent quality standards, for instance they all have switch-mode power supplies as you would expect from any serious chassis made after 1990 unlike that thing above. But there's not much to do: there must be some sort of conditioning that forces people to come up with the weiya name every time these horrible "universal" chassis are posted.

My bad, I always forget about the ripoffs.

I've tried 3 of the "universal" chassis over the years and they all made smoke
within a few weeks of operation.

Since then I just buy used K7000 or other chassis and recap them. No problems.

wei-ya does have a factory in shenzhen china now along with taiwan.

You can set that board to standard or medium resolution using the SW5 dipswitches

switch 1 ON for low
switch 1 OFF for medium

I didn't think about that. but typically when I have a gt board set on the wrong resolution I still see a picture, its just all messed up. on this I see nothing. its easy enough to swap in another board I have to test.

doesn't bother me, the one I have looks different that one you posted, looks more like fake/clone but the remote board has degause switch and its neck board is greenish. mine might be another variation, but honestly I'm happy with it as its dialed in and working... a lot of the ones I see people are asking stupid money for them on feebay for one that works

Here's the schematic

https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-monitors/Weiya 425H.pdf

It's a low res chassis, just good for the time you send the

old chassis out for repair, LOL

the yoke has to be within the impedance, for the replacement chassis

company's like 8-liner you can call them with the info and they will tell which chassis

will work best for your model.

A lot goes wrong including the fly and then its not worth fixing.

But if you want to TS it here's the manual.
