So I just got the replacment wei ya chassis...

Has anyone installed one of these?

I have a few questions:

Cant find the degauss on the board....

Where do I hook in the ground?

It has a regular plug - can I plug this in?

Thanks,
Chris

What degauss are you looking for? The degauss switch or the degauss plug, header? Which ground are you hooking up? Did you try plugging this chassis in using the plug that came with it or did you cut off the plug and splice the wires to the ones for your isolation transformer?

Did you connect your tube grounding strap wire to the plug on the neckboard? Did you plug the yoke harness into the right spot? Have you spliced the new video input wire harness to your existing video wires on the Jamma harness?

Please list everything you've done or haven't done.

When you posted the issue that you had with your Polo Chassis when you "accidentally" connected the vertical winding wires into the horizontal headers on your chassis and vice versa it was mentioned that you could have shorted the yoke.

If the yoke was shorted I don't know if this will damage the chassis but I know it's not good. You also shouldn't have plugged in the replacement chassis without first verifying that the yoke was good or without first confirming everything was hooked up right.

If you don't check everything first then you end up going in circles trying to fix new problems caused be the old problems and so on. Now if you replace the yoke your monitor might still not work because something might be wrong with your replacement chassis due to it being plugged in incorrectly or from the possibly bad yoke.

The 825 chassis MUST be powered from an isolation transformer. Do not plug this chassis power plug into a wall outlet or the chassis will be damaged!

Update: I found a donor tv....now want to make sure I don't mess it up

Oli - I just sent this to you via email...but posting in case Ken has something to add regarding how to connect the power....

Ok...so I replaced the cracked power resistor on the new chassis...

Ohms on the old monitor:
H 2.6 drops to 1.6?
V 5.6
Ohms on donor:
H2.2
V7.2

What ohms should I be reading on the donor tv? My neighbors left it out for pickup!! It has the correct # of posts and the neckboard fits.

What should I check on the new and the old chassis before i hook them up to try?

Also, I do not have a plug in the transformer so I cut the plug off of the Wei Ya chassis....the existing wire has 3 connectors - the plug only has 2? I did check for continuity and get a beep between the 2 purple - but do I need to do something with the green (ground?)

I made sure I have all the right connections ready to go:
degauss - 2 connections to board
Ground from wire around tv - to neckboard
Game wires (5) matched to correct color
V and H (4) wires matched to correct wires on yoke
Power: not sure what to do - connect cut power cord to the 2 wires that gave contuinity?

Thanks,
Chris
