New Wei-Ya chassis arrived today, need some guidance

Long story short. I picked up a new 19" monitor from 8liners. The 2820H chassis that came with the new monitor died after a few minutes of successful operation. They sent out a new one right away. What I got was a 2620HR with a Euro plug, which has the specs. of 10-16amp 250volt. The label on the chassis itself says input is rated 90-260volt. There are no jumpers for 110v / 220v.

Will 110 volts power this unit without any mods? If so, can I just cut off the Euro. type plug and add a standard US outlet plug in order to power it off of the outlet that is on my Happ power supply in my cabinet?

Thanks for any help you can provide. I really appreciate it!

Hold on thar!

The 2820 series is a "High Impedance" chassis. The 2620 series is a "Low impedance" chassis. THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH EACH OTHER.

Ok, thank you very much Ken! I'm not sure why they sent me that chassis. How can I test my tube yoke to verify that I actually have a low low impedance yoke? I have a MM, if you have time, would you mind letting me know the method to test this?

Thank you again Ken, I have read 100's of your posts and deeply appreciate all your contributions and advice.

Red & blue yoke wires are generally the horizontal section. Yellow & green yoke wires are generally the vertical section.

Monitor power off. Unplug yoke connector from chassis. Stick ohmmeter leads into the yellow & green holes of that connector and measure resistance.

The yoke readings you get should be 9 to 15 ohms which would be considered "Low Impedance". If you read 30 to 55 ohms, then you have a "High impedance" yoke.

Oh, by the way Ken...not that I'll be hooking up this particular chassis, but since there is no 110/220 jumper, do these chassis auto adjust to accept either 110 or 220? If so, I assume that I just need to switch out the Euro plug?

Or you could drive a couple of miles down the road to Marysville and I will show you.;)

Dokert, I never realized you were in Wa. let alone down the road from me! I bet we have some friends and acquaintances in common. I would love to swing by your place sometime. I will PM you.

So, I ended up modifying the yoke to low impendence today (got the yoke down to 14.0 ohms) and the new Wei-ya chassis fired right up. The only issue now is the entire picture is rotated slightly to the right (not bad, but it bugs me). Oddly enough, I've never adjusted that part of a monitor. Not sure if I need to loosen the clamp closest to neck board or the one closest to the tube and once it's loose what is the best way to rotate it, without breaking things.
