for 200$ and some work i now have a sweet golden tee 2005

picked up 5 golden 2 2005 boards from a local klover

traded in 4 boards for a 2k5 harddrive and a complete cab sans monitor

took her home and put everything togather and since i dont have any spare working 25 inch monitors i tested everything with a 19 inch lcd

with everything working good i decided its time to go grab a nice lcd
went to a local discount pc store and picked up a nice acer 24 inch for 170$
got it home pluged it in and damn it wont dectect a signal from the game board (damn med res siginal)

ran back to the pc store to return the acer and brought the pcb,hd, and ps with me this time
finaly after 2 other monitors i was able to get a hanspree 24 inch to sync up dumped down 200$ for the bad boy(even after my 10% discount )

got her home and got to work making some mounts

now here i sit with a playable game
(btw man the lcd looks nice in this game lol)

first thing tommorow im going to go pick up some matte board and have some plexi cut to make a bezl and thn i need to fab a plate to cover up the dba accptor slot and shes all done

Looks like it is coming along nice. Hey instead of making a plate for the DBA hole I purchased two non working DBA's for my GT awhile back and have one sitting in my garage. If you want shoot me a pm and I will send it out your way if you just pay for the shipping. It should be between 5 and 10 bucks is my guess.

Looks very nice.. I got a nice 2005 kit but haven't been lucky enough to find a nice empty cabinet in my area.. Oh well, someday one will pop up.

These always seem to be pirated from dead machines. It sounds kind of cheesy, but I just took a piece of wood, painted it black and bolted it right on the stock mounting bolts. It pretty much just disappears into the front of the cab since the color matches.

thats what im going to do is just use a old metal plate i have lying around drill a few holes and then paint it black

SupaDave - A guy up by me has about 12 of them - I can give you his info if you want it - he's asking like $150 for cab w/monitor but no CP or pcb if I remember right.

mabey true but at this point finding 25 inch arcade monitors is a pain
and the 3 25k7000's i have here as spares all need chassis work

so its just not worth the headache to screw with the old arcade monitors when i can use a lcd without any modfications to the game vid output

and on gt 2005 the lcd just looks freaking sweet

pluss this freaking cab is so damn heavy without a monitor im glad that i could install a lcd and not add a ton of weight

Did that LCD work out of the box or do you have a converter in there?

lcd works right out of the box but it took me 2 diffrent lcd's to get one to sync up to the game

this one is a hanspre or somthing like that

the acer would not detect a siginal

and my test monitor a lenovo branded 19 inch synced right up as well

the gt boards run on a 3dfx pci based graffix card with a vga connector but are still outputing a low med res siginal so only certian lcd monitors will sync

Yeah you had better luck than I did.... I tried 3 and none of them worked.

Did you have to do anything special to hook the monitor up? Was looking to replace my 25 tube since the colors suck and wanted to know if you had ton use a converter in order to use LCD monitor? Anything I can tell you about my sys board to let youbknow what I might need?

Also, meant ton say I'm dealing with golden tee 2002 not 2005 anything I should keep in mind?
