I didn't find a toppic named this specifically, so I'm making one.
I have a weak kicker in my SMB machine- it perfectly kicks the ball directly between the flippers about 80% of the time
So I did some searching and it seems I should do the following:
1) Clean the kicker assembly *Don't use oil or grease of any type!*
2) Check the sleave for melting and wear - Replace if found
3) Check the coil for expansion and burn marks - Replace if found
4) Check for mushrooming - Replace if found
When replacing the coil, make sure that the correct leads are attached to the correct wire or there could be a dead short.
Anything else? (I'll add it to the list above if there is)
I noticed the kicking pole top (the thing that whacks the ball) looks like metal and seems somewhat chipped... is this a problem? It could just be very old dirty plastic... I haven't taken the thing appart yet.
