Weak jets...want to replace the linkages, but how? :p

Going to order some parts when I get some money (grit teeth), the weak jet bumpers on my pinbot are bugging the crap out of me. How much of it is simply adjustment? The linkages seem to have a lot of play on them. I made the right one stronger by moving out the EOS switch, but I'm guessing that's probably not an ideal solution. Have no clue how big the gap really should be on that.

I checked the coil sleeves, coils are fine, not expanded, and the sleeves move freely, so should not be an issue there. Was going to replace them, but the sleeves I have from flipper rebuild are too small diameter wise to fit the rod currently in there? I haven't seen any different diameter coil sleeves anywhere, just different lengths. Not sure what's up with that... :|

How are those links attached at the ends? Never had to replace any of them before, and there's no screw. I've heard people talk about "roll pins" before, but frankly, I've got no clue about that. :p

Just making sure, you mean the pop bumpers right? Not much to those linkages really, just a plunger and the fiber/metal link that connects to the ring. Sleeve and plunger, and maybe the end stop, are the only wear parts on there. Old dried out capacitors can also contribute, and adjusting the spoon switch can be a pain in the ass.

Unless you mean the slingshots? Then those are a bit more complicated, as you have the pivot linkages. I'd just replace the whole linkage assembly, too many wear points in there. But as with the pop bumpers, I'd try new capacitors first, as the affect the timing pulse coming through the special solenoid circuits.

Yes, I mean the slingshots. PBL sells link+plunger assembly for them, and I can replace that, no problem, but still don't see how it connects to the other side.

I'll try and get some pics when I get home. Life has been very hectic the last week and my brain isn't working right. I've already corrected like 10 typos on this post. :|

All of my pop bumpers work great. Almost too good sometimes. Especially with the enclosed pop area on Pinbot...can take a while for them to come out, lol.

Ahhh, I gotcha. Mechanically, it's very similar to the linkages for your kickout holes, shooter lane kicker and stuff like that. Easy to change. Usually that link is where the majority of the wear is that makes things sloppy.

Start by taking the coil bracket off, which frees up the whole plunger/link assembly. The link/plunger attaches to the swingarm by just sliding sideways over a pin at the end of the swingarm. You just need to remove a hairpin clip, and the plunger assembly slides right off.

Just be glad it's NOT the pop bumpers, those are a nightmare to adjust sometimes.
