We need more machines for PIN WARS III pinball show

ATTENTION:
STERN STAR TREK WILL BE AT PIN WARS III
thx to TILT AMUSEMENTS

*if you bring a game (or more), here is what you get:
1) 50% of the coin drop your game (S) makes.
2) eligible for best in show plaques.
3) drawings for prizes exclusively for people who bring games.
4) bring games for sale with no fees and they can go as you please.
5) 3 free tournament entries for each machine you bring..

ALSO:
For Pin Wars III playoffs , we will have plenty of extra games not in tourney bank.
So, some games (after inspection) will be marked "playoff eligible" and they can be chosen in playoffs for open and classics playoffs.
so if u wanna choose taf, black pyramid, or tron or anything else on the floor outside of the normal qualifying bank, (even your own games you bring), go for it. My friends at Pittsburgh pinball open do this and it seems to work well. U can practice on those games at any time during the event. If you want to bring any games let me know. its another huge incentive for you to bring a game.

To an outsider here, only offering 50% of the coin take seems a little greedy. Bringing games can be a pain to move and then to let a bunch of strangers bang on them. .50 a game seems a very low inventive. Let them keep all the coin drops. That's their incentive to bring more games. Your incentive is give up your 50% in order to get more games.

You gotta be kidding?!? 50% is very generous.

Think of it this way: They have to pay for the room, all their hours of set up for the room, any "union help" to run the power and move the equipment.

Bottom line: they are trying to break even. These halls aren't cheap. Even friends who help run on pizza and beer.

I would respectfully disagree. Last year I took 5 machines to the Allentown pinball show. Yes, we get free admission for each game. That is it. We move them, we fix what goes wrong, and we take the lumps if things break. And hundreds of collectors do it for the love of the show, and the love of the game. if I got $.25 for each of the 450 games put on Black Knight 2000, I would be ecstatic!

And I am not complaining about taking the games to the show. I love to do it. I love to watch people enjoy my machines.

Now, what I wonder, is if the amount of plays would go down if people had to be particular about what machines they dropped coins into.

I think 50% is more than fair. I just hope the get the number of machines they need.

*most shows offer nothing except free admission for people who bring games.
*there is NO admission at PIN WARS show so all games in the building will be on coin play.
so, offering "free admission" per game someone brings would be kinda silly.

obviously the location gets the other 50% just as any other location gets when an operator has games on location that accept money (or another percentage).
a show has many fees to run including, electricity, paying employees to run the event, advertising, water, heat, ac, building mortgage, taxes, and a host of other things.
it goes towards the bills having a show creates.
since there is NO admission fee, thats what the 50% coin drop goes towards.

just as $15- $30 dollar a day that most shows have with normal admission fees that goes towards the bills.

once again not only do people who bring games get 50% of the coin drop, they are also put in the running to get "best of show" plaques, special drawings for just them. they can also sell games with no fees and can remove their games at anytime.
AND- 3 tournament entries (which is $10 for 3 entries) per game they bring.

as far as numbers- last year games made between $20 and $90 per game for 3 days.
games ranged for 25 cents to $1 a play (tron LE was $1).
obviously if you bring good games people want to play and have your games set up right, you will earn some coinage:).

on the flip side..if you want to bring your game and have it on FREE play, thats up to you.
either way is fine.
last year no one chose making ZERO dollars instead of making some money for their games they brought thow;).

huge success. thx to everyone who helped. next year, bigger incentives for anyone who brings games... also, in the playoffs being able to choose your own game is pretty big, so keep that in mind.
