I believe that you can never have enough rebuildable G07-CBO's, so I snagged up this great deal on 3 G07-CBO's. The seller shall remain nameless, because these were sold as non-working. Now mind you, I did ask the seller if they were complete and he replied something to the effect "I think they are all complete."

Here is what I found inside the box that I received today in the mail. (Note: The box was not mutilated in any way shape or form.)

Other than the busted Horizontal Width Coil it is complete. Not to mention that it is completely busted in 4 or 5 locations on the deflection board.

Ah but, someone has practiced installing a Bob Roberts cap kit on it at least. They even replaced the flyback, right before they ripped the connector off of the end of the anode.

Decisions, decisions... Donor chassis or Christmas gift for Chris25810???

G07-CBO #2 coming up in the next post.

This little piggy is in better shape. It has the busted HWC just like it's brother, and a nice Bob Roberts cap kit too.

I did find it amusing what they did with the large fuse, just solder some wire onto an automotive fuse and move on. Also did you notice that C302 is installed backwards?

Woo Hoo, there is hope for this one.

G07-CBO #3 coming in next post

This one has the deluxe Bob Roberts kit installed with extras. New HWC, FR401, New 3.3uF BP's.

And then Santa came down the chimney. The End.

I bought these 3 G07-CBO's sight unseen, in known non-working condition and I hold the seller harmless in this transaction.

The purpose of this tale is to show everyone out there why we all keep seeing the same posts over and over and over again. "I just did a cap kit and now my monitor won't make toast." People, a cap kit is not the fix all for a defective G07-CBO. Take a few seconds and compare that POS G07-CBO chassis that you just got with your newly acquired game to a working one and see what is missing or broken before you decide to do a cap kit.

wow i hope you got your money back, same thing happened to me with a couple of wg 4600s i bought off ebay. i promptly got my money back. granted c302 is screened back wards on the board its always alerts the installer on the instructions.

Why should he ask for his money back? He bought as-is broken chassis and got... broken monitor chassis. Fixing G07's is not hard, he should have all three of those working fine in no time. They're complete, and that's good.

Much better than a deal I got screwed on a while back - I bought three known-broken chassis with no flybacks. What the seller failed to mention is that they were all missing their focus dividers too. And, since those aren't available except from other chassis, I've got some useless monitor chassis that I can't fix. My fault for not looking closely at the pictures though.

Chassis #1 looks like it needs my love. If you wanna send it to my trauma wing for a life saving procedure, I'll donate it to a needy member once repaired.

Chris, I'd like to scrub in on that procedure. Sounds fun. Nothing like a little trace bypass surgery to steady your hands. ;)

I've only been in this hobby about 3 years, but I laugh at the number of times I hear the response "just do a cap kit, and it'll fix it."

My bathroom scale seems to be broken. It's reading heavy. Maybe it needs a cap kit.

A cap kit on these chassis covers one of the 15-20 other things that typically fail on these things. In fact, this chassis will power up and produce a picture even with the shittiest of caps but if the c511 is dead, you get nothing. Bad filter caps and blown hots's. When the flyback smokes are extremely rare.

Here's the best advice I can give you guys: ditch the outdated flow chart, these things no longer even skim the surface on todays component failures. Gotta take my dog to the vet now, he's been having some hearing and sight issues for a while and according to the flow chart that came with birth papers 12 years ago, he's due for a cap kit

I just don't understand people anymore!

Just describe the stuff as is and be done with it! Text is free, so explain all the issues when selling stuff. Pics are always great of course.

There's a reason why I have 100% feedback on ebay and when I sell stuff in general, people are happy.

I think some of you folks are taking the post wrong. I don't think Dokert's bitching that he got screwed, I think he's chuckling that the boards don't work because of obvious, easy to see problems.

I wonder if that broken one was like that before it was shipped. How was it packed? Was the broken one on top or bottom?

I recently received two chassis in the mail from a member who will remain nameless - a 19K7000 and a 25" U2000. Both were wrapped in a thin layer of bublewrap, then stuffed into a box that measures:

L - 12"
W - 9.5"
H - 9"

That left almost no space around the two for additional padding, and the U2000 ended up with a corner broken....

No I did NOT get screwed, I paid $50 shipped. I hold the seller harmless in this transaction.

The box that they came in had no noticeable shipping damage. They were packed poorly, but it should have been good enough to not damage any of them.

I am going to donate Chassis #1 to the trauma wing at Chris25810's, as I know for a fact the he will provide awesome photo documentation of the life-saving procedures that were preformed.

Flow Charts are not the end all beat all. They merely give you some point of reference for some of the problems that you may be seeing. The Sanyo 20EZV flow chart that I made is no different.
