WCS 94 random slam tilts SOLVED

The guy playing it was not being rough at all and it was happening a lot from normal play. When I played with it for a bit it would randomly slam tilt on me as well.

I am guessing I am having a low voltage issue. I am going to go through the reset section of the repair guide here in a bit. I have ordered the Williams WPC high voltage components kit from GPE and it should be here tomorrow.

Would a low voltage reset show up as a slam tilt? I do not see a slam tilt mech on the playfield, the one on the bottom of the cab is disconnected, and the one on the coin door is bent so it cannot make contact at all.

I guess I am clueless about the rectifier. I got the kit from GPE. it does not list a rectifier. Will that kit be enough, or do I need more parts?

the kit you bought has a rectifier in it.

Ahhhh. Cool.

I am just not as seasoned as many when it comes to using my DMM to check stuff. I know it is not the proper way, but I usually end up just replacing all the parts suggested in the guides just to make sure.

I am headed down to see if I can figure out the testing of stuff. Parts will be here tomorrow.

Was the goalie switch wires grounding from breaking loose.

Noticed the kickback target would cause the slam tilt. Followed the row and column when i saw the goalie was on the same, checked and smiled. At least I have a WPC high power kit if I need it.

I got slam tilts on a TFTC every time I hit the ramp. The ramp switch was in the same matrix, but it looked okay. Ordered a new switch for it and realized that the diode was put on backwards. Check all the switches in the matrix. could be just a loose wire or a bad diode that is causing all the problems. If it was working fine before and changes it might be something else, but I would check those other switches too.
